Spring Skies

The other day as we headed to town, caught a few nice pics of some of the interesting skies we've head before the latest storm blew in.

The picture of Mt. Shasta looked so amazing with that heavy dark blanket of sky appearing like a curtain, ready to fall on a scene.

By the time we headed back home, the skies were mostly a wonderful blue, with huge cumulus clouds sailing along.

I love this time of year. Rather then endless blue, sunny skies, as is the norm all summer long, now it's always

great to take that trip to town where the horizons seem endless and we never know what we'll find when we get out of our foothills into the open valley.

I took the picture with the wonderful oaks and the huge clouds just before we headed into the ranch itself.

Richard pulled over and I got out for a better chance at capturing the slight greening of the pastures and the oak against that great sky.

When I turned around to get back into the truck, I found some spectators wondering what I was up to.

So had to include them as well. :)

HAPPY EASTER!!!

Easter Wishes to all! Hope on this rainy Easter Sunday you will still find many bright spots to greet you. As I did, wandering the yard in the fine mist. Finding blooming things, turning their faces towards the sky , drinking up the delicious watery bounty. While we might mutter at the long rainy season, Nature savors each and every drop, as do the many flowers in bloom.

Snowdrops

Yesterday, with the sky cleared after the recent storm , I was wandering around the yard, enjoying the fresh,moist air. As I rounded the corner by the small pond, my eyes fell on a patch of white in the oak leaves. To my delight I found a small group of snowdrops who had eagerly pushed their heads through the debris, determined to find sunlight. What a beacon of hope! The first signs of spring have arrived on delicate stems. To me snowdrops have always meant that we're slowly moving toward the new season. Though our winters aren't very harsh , I am always looking forward to being able to spend my days outdoors once again.

Spring Views

It's been a few days since I've blogged. To busy with this and that. But wanted to be sure I'd not forget about this little corner of my world. :)

Today's picture was taken earlier this year on our morning doggy walk through the hills around our property.

I love it when the sky is not only a beautiful deep blue, but has banks of soft, white clouds as well. The golden winter hills were just starting to sport some pale green. With the oaks covered in delicate young leaves all around us. The earth was coming back to life, renewing us as well after a long, wet winter.
