White pearlescent heart clusters~calling all bees

First steps taken~tickets in hand
more then a plan now~reality
time will fly and so will we

~
At last they found us~precious drops
falling from churning thick blankets of clouds
blessing the thirsty, parched land
standing in the garden~long before sunrise
velvet darkness~not a star in sight
just delicious moisture kissing our faces
not nearly enough~but it's a start

January 30th, 2014
~
This time my homeland will not greet him with icy fingers
slipping down his collar~raising goosebumps and chilling noses
instead it will be verdant ~welcoming him with flower filled arms
laying at his feet all of it's charms~ surprise and bewitch him
full of color and life he'll find the land~a lush delightful gypsy
not the ice maiden he met before~who was lovely too
clothed in crystal white ~ misty veils draping her flanks
but oh how he will delight in her warm breezes~this time

January 31st, 2014
~
Hawthorn tree waves arms wildly in protest
Mockingbird boldly steals the coral berries
darting branch to branch  harvesting eagerly
~
Each day the little tree looks a bit more bare
there'll be none left for the beautiful Waxwings
who arrive later in the year on their way south
~
Yet the Mockingbird too must eat
a delight to watch as he gathers the tasty treats
leaving trembling branches in his wake
